The Water Wicker is a humidity absorber designed to make a sleep in the warmer months of the year a more comfortable experience. My product is a small piece of fire resistant cloth that has silica beads woven into it. My product is designed to lower the humidity around the body while sleeping for more comfortable sleep. It is also reusable and very simple.  The combination of all of these actors make it into a great overall, effective solution to the problem with uncomfortable sleep.

 When coming up with the original idea to provide a comfortable  sleep the original idea was to go with a sleeping bag that has a temperature control future not long into the research this route did not work because of the cost and labor involved in making just one unit. Also the limited market of people that use sleeping bags was not what the goal was. The idea was to have something that everyone that could use and that would be very effective in preventing discomfort. As the research continued it was discovered that temperature was not the biggest problem when it came to discomfort during sleep. It was found to be humidity. Humidity prevents the evaporation of sweat that is vital to the body being able to regulate its temperature. With this revolution the product took a turn to instead deal with the source of the problem rather than the symptoms of it. The new idea for a product began and this was the water Wicker.

The Water Wicker not only accomplishes the goal of removing discomfort for people sleeping in warmer weather but is also very simple and effective to both use and reuse. The Water Wicker can also be used in a bed or a sleeping bag making not only a great choice for campers but also people who prefer the indoors. With the Water Wicker you can sleep comfortably in any warm weather conditions because it stops the problem of humidity before you feel it.
